Logging progress
Once a project is onsite, one of the key activities that will be undertaken on a regular basis is updating site progress. This is essential so you can benchmark your incurred costs, establish your current application revenues and provide your clients with a detailed report of progress by package and zone, all of which can be compared against the programme time duration.
Chalkstring links key onsite functionality together through progress by using a slick and unique interface for keeping information up to date. Log progress from a mobile device whilst onsite by using simple sliders with all the calculations taking place in the background. Chalkstring will even automatically calculate your material onsite, by comparing your current progress vs what you have ordered to date.
> Back to topFixed costs progress
This section displays all your fixed costs by the work package selected. Simply identify how many units, days, weeks, months etc you have provided of each item for each package. The fixed costs for a package can be defined in a wide range of units. Marking progress against these is not something that translates itself well to % progress sliders. Because of this, the fixed cost progress interface is a simple input. If you tell Chalkstring how much of something you have provided to the current date, Chalkstring will then work out the balances and include it in your applications for payment.
1. From the 'Progress' section of the onsite project you want to add fixed cost progress for and click on 'Fixed cost progress'.
2. Select the package(s) on your project which contain(s) fixed costs and you will be presented with a table like the below example.
3. Update the ‘Quantity Completed’ fields to reflect your current position in relation to each item. Chalkstring keeps track of when the fields were last updated. This is so you know how much more you need to add to the figure each time. This is especially useful if the unit the item is defined in is time based.
There is no save button, clicking anywhere outside of the box will save the quantity entered.
