What are the functions in the product and component menus in the Rate build-up?

The product and component menus contain a variety of functions relating to the rate build-up. 

The Product menu on the rate build-up screen is accessed from the icon to the right of each product and these functions include:

  • Bill of quantities - shortcut to the bill of quantities values for this particular product
  • Move product - allows you to change the position of this product relative to other products in the rate build-up
  • View & edit product - opens the product to be viewed and amended
  • Convert to supply & fit - converts the product to a supply & fit item
  • Replace product - allows you to replace this product with another product template from your library
  • Delete product - deletes this product from the rate build-up and removes any corresponding values from the bill of quantities

The Component menu within the product templates is accessed by hovering over the icon in the top right of the blue component header bar and these functions include:

  • Add material - allows you to add another material to the component
  • Add labour activity - allows you to add another labour activity to the component
  • 'Scale quantities' - allows you to multiple by or divide the quantities of the materials and labour activities within the component.
  • Move component - allows you to change the position of this component relative to other components in the product template
  • Rename component - allows you to change the name of a component
  • Delete component - allows you to delete a component and its associated materials and labour activities
