      Release summary

      We're excited to share some significant improvements that will save you time and make working with drawing revisions much easier. Here's what's new

      New features 

      Drawing Overlays - Compare Revisions Visually 

      You can now upload and overlay additional drawings directly onto your main drawing in takeoff. This means no more switching between multiple browser tabs or printed drawings to spot changes between revisions. 

      What you can do: 

      • Upload PDF drawings as overlays with custom colours and transparency 
      • Align overlays precisely using reference points - the system handles scaling and rotation automatically 
      • Toggle overlays on and off while keeping all your measurements intact 
      • Work with better quality drawings thanks to improved PDF rendering 

      Why this matters: You can now directly compare different revisions within takeoff, allowing you to see changes more easily and work more accurately, especially useful for utilities, facades, and other complex trades.

      Drawing Labels - Add Text Directly to Drawings 

      • Add professional text labels straight onto your drawings instead of using freehand sketches. Labels include timestamps and can be customised with different colours and backgrounds. 

      Why this helps: You can now add more information directly onto the drawing while your annotations look more professional and are easier to read.

      EvoM Accounting Export 

      • If you use EvoM accounting software, you can now export your invoice data in a format that imports directly into EvoM's Purchase Ledger. This feature is enabled on request - contact help@chalkstring.com if you're interested. 

      Why this matters: Eliminates hours of manual data entry and reduces the risk of accounting errors.

      Improvements 

      Better Project Management 

      • New project status: Added "To check" option to help track your workflow stages 
      • Smarter filtering: Find projects faster by filtering by assigned person, responsible person, or key dates (tender due, submitted, chase dates) 
      • Flexible material orders: Choose whether your downloaded material orders are sorted alphabetically or in the order you added items - keeping them consistent with what you see on screen 
      Improved Drawing Quality 
      • All drawings now display as high-quality PDFs instead of images, giving you sharper detail when zooming in for precise measurements.
