Release summary
This release introduces a powerful new option for specialists working from plan drawings. You can now enter a pitch angle directly against products in takeoff and Chalkstring will handle the rest — applying the correct adjustment automatically to give you faster, more accurate surface calculations.
Why this change matters
- Save time – Skip manual pitch factor calculations
- Reduce errors – Let Chalkstring apply the correct multiplier
- Improve accuracy – Keep your drawings and outputs fully traceable
Enhancements
Pitch Roof Calculations
If you’re measuring pitched surfaces like sloped roofs or cladding panels from plan drawings, you can set a pitch angle directly on the product in takeoff. Chalkstring calculates and applies the correct multiplier (based on the pitch angle) to all measurements — giving you accurate surface areas without needing to adjust the height or depth manually.
Key details:
- A new option on the product form lets you switch from "Height/depth" to "Pitch angle" mode
- The pitch multiplier appears in both the add and edit measurement windows
- When exporting to PDF, the pitch angle is shown alongside the measurements
- Works across all measure types (Area, Path, Count)
