In this article
What is the sketching feature when to use it
The free measure feature can be used to add sketches to your takeoff drawings. Enabling drawings look more professional and can be understood instantly by clients and subcontractors, without flipping between pages.
How to use sketching
- The sketching function is accessed from the 'Markup' section of takeoff.
- Once in the 'Markup' section, click 'Sketching' in the floating toolbar.
You can add the following:
- Free sketch - sketch using the mouse/trackpad/touch
- Line - draw single segment straight lines
- Oval
- Rectangle
- Revision cloud
- Arrow - A line with an arrow on the end
You can set the colour and line thickness for each of your sketches using the dropdown menus
Add - Adds new sketches to your drawing.
Edit - Click on your existing sketches to edit, move or delete them.
Any sketches will be included in takeoff exports when the 'Markup' option is selected.
