Variations to project packages can also be requested for fixed costs as well as measured works. 

Adding a fixed cost variation

  1. Expand the main Chalkstring black menu bar and click on the ‘Projects’ menu.
  2. Search for and click the 'Project' to add the variation to.
  3. Within the project homepage, click ‘Project hub’ sub menu.
  4. Click on the sub menu for work package where the variation is to be added.
  5. Click on the ‘Fixed costs’ sub menu.
  6. Select the fixed cost from drop-down menu. If the fixed cost you want to add isn't in the drop down, click ‘New Fixed Cost’ to add a new one. See article Adding and editing fixed costs for further details on adding new fixed costs.
  7. Enter the quantity, period length and any profit for the fixed cost.
  8. Click save.

The new fixed cost will then appear in the fixed cost list. It will be identified as a variation by a blue variation icon.

The impact of the variation to the package price can be seen on the ‘assessment overview’.
